Welcome to the district webpage for Curriculum and Instruction. The Office of Curriculum and
Instruction is responsible for the development and implementation of the district curriculum K-12. Our
primary goal is to support teaching and learning in Barnwell School District 19 and provide a diverse,
rigorous and appropriate curriculum for all students. We strive to provide consistency in the
instructional program across all schools and grades as well as work to implement a curriculum designed
as a system-wide support to ensure high expectations for the district’s teachers and students. The
support provided by the Curriculum and Instruction Department is intended to ensure student
engagement in rigorous instruction that will help them meet South Carolina State Standards and be
college and career ready.
